We are looking for an experienced Compensation and Benefits Manager to join our HR team here in Spartanburg, SC.
The Compensation & Benefits Manager is responsible for the design and implementation of competitive total compensation and benefits programs for the Company, which directly contribute to the achievement of the Company's strategic objectives
Compensation Duties

  • Responsible for the overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of the organization's compensation programs.
  • Lead competitive market research to establish pay practices and salary/wage structures that attract, motivate and retain associates.
  • Monitor all pay practices and programs for effectiveness and cost containment.
  • Responsible for monitoring the design, analysis, and implementation of total executive compensation. To include; the design, development, and administration of base pay, annual incentives, and long-term incentive programs.
  • Serve as a resource to management in the development of bonus and incentive plans that are consistent with the Company's overall philosophy, seeking leadership approval as required.
  • Design and administer equity programs. Develop new or amended stock incentive plans that require shareholder and Compensation Committee approval.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of the salary grade structure and job evaluation process.
  • Conduct an annual review of corporate salaried, corporate hourly, in-unit hourly & salaried pay programs and develop recommendations for wage/salary structure updates.
  • Develop associate and HR Manager training for all compensation programs.
  • Oversee the writing of the Compensation Discussion and Analysis and receive approval of it from the Compensation Committee and manage the completion of the required compensation charts included in the annual proxy statement.
  • Oversee the administration of the annual merit programs. Develop merit budgets.
  • Develop and interpret compensation policies and practices.
  • Manage the compensation activities involved with the integration of acquisitions and divestitures.
    Benefit Duties:
    • Responsible for the overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of the organization's benefits programs.
    • Develop and manage a competitive and comprehensive benefits program in accordance with the company's strategic vision and objectives.
    • Evaluate, recommend and lead the implementation of changes to employee benefit plans, as well as manage third party vendor partners and administrative solutions.
    • Responsible for the overall design, implementation, communication, and administration of the organization's 401(k) and Deferred Compensation programs. To include; acting as the primary liaison with our third-party vendors, interfacing with both internal and external auditors, working with the Denny's Retirement Plans Committee, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal rules.
    • Monitor all health & welfare programs for effectiveness and cost containment.
    • Responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of voluntary benefits programs offered by Denny's Inc.
      Position Requirements:
      • BA/BS degree with an emphasis in human resources, business, or related field required
      • Master's degree in business, industrial relations or related field preferred
      • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
      • Certified Benefits Professional (CEBS/ CBP) designation or in-progress
      • 6 + years of experience in compensation and benefits, to include experience designing, implementing, and administering compensation and benefits programs for a publicly-traded company
      • Prior retirement plan experience in the United States
      • Thorough knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and regulations
      • The ability to create and critique strategy for compensation and benefits platforms
      • Expertise in Workday is preferred.
      • Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills
      • Strong written and oral communication skills
      • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Keen attention to detail
      • Proven results orientation and ability to execute to conclusion
      • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and employees
