Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Providing high-quality communication support within an educational environment, this position requires a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to work with a school community in Troutman, NC. This contract role is vital to the success and inclusion of students who rely on sign language to access their education fully. Key Responsibilities: Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation for students, educators, and staff. Arrive early each day to prepare for student arrival and ensure timely support. Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate effective communication and learning. Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interpreting duties. Qualifications and Experience: Licensed Sign Language Interpreter with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required. Alternatively, holding RID certification qualifies candidates to perform this role. Previous experience interpreting within a school setting is highly desirable. Ability to work onsite exclusively; no remote or VOCO assignments are permitted. Location and Schedule: Position based in Troutman, NC. Contract runs from April 1, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with continuation anticipated for the 2026/2027 school year.
