Location: Charlotte, North Carolina Employment Type: Full-Time
Industry Focus: Department of Defense (DoD), Federal, Commercial,
and Industrial Facilities Level: Engineer II or Engineer III (based
on experience) Estimated Salary Range Electrical Engineer II:
$85,000 – $100,000 Electrical Engineer III: $100,000 – $135,000
Compensation is based on experience, licensure status, federal/DoD
project exposure, and technical capability. Additional compensation
may include overtime eligibility, performance bonuses, and

security, and performance requirements. We are seeking an
Electrical Engineer II–III to join our Charlotte, NC office and
support a growing portfolio of building and infrastructure
projects. Position Summary The Electrical Engineer II–III is
responsible for the design, coordination, and technical review of
electrical and communications systems for new construction,
renovations, and retrofit projects. This role works closely with
senior engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to
deliver coordinated, constructible designs that meet client,
regulatory, and operational requirements. The position level (II or
III) will be determined based on experience, project
responsibility, and licensure. Experience supporting Department of
Defense or federal facilities , including an understanding of
active military environments , is considered a strong asset. Key
Responsibilities Electrical & Communications Design Design
electrical power, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and
communications systems for building and infrastructure projects.
Prepare detailed construction documents, including drawings,
specifications, calculations, and cost estimates. Support projects
involving new construction, renovations, and facility upgrades.
Quality Control & Technical Review Perform quality control (QC)
reviews of electrical and communications designs. Review
consultant-prepared drawings and documents, providing technical
guidance and design corrections. Ensure compliance with applicable
codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, UFC, and other governing
requirements. Project Support & Coordination Conduct site visits to
document existing conditions and support design development.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural,
mechanical, structural, civil, and environmental engineers. Assist
in planning, designing, and monitoring construction activities.
Construction Administration Support contract administration
activities, including bid evaluation and contractor coordination.
Review construction inspection data and assist with preparation of
payment estimates. Respond to RFIs and support field coordination
as needed. Client & Team Collaboration Serve as a technical
resource for facilities planning, design, construction, and
maintenance. Build effective working relationships with internal
teams, clients, and external consultants. Communicate clearly
through written reports, technical documentation, and verbal
coordination. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering . 5 years of experience in electrical and
communications system design and/or construction support. Strong
working knowledge of applicable electrical and building codes.
Proficiency with AutoCAD , discipline-specific design software, and
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Excellent written, verbal, and
interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple
tasks and collaborate in a team-based environment. Preferred
Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred;
ability to obtain licensure by comity in other states. Experience
supporting Department of Defense or federal facilities .
Familiarity with active military installations and mission-critical
environments. LEED-AP certification . Experience supporting
large-scale or technically complex construction projects.
