Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) at HCA Mission Hospital

Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time - Nights

* Eligible for $10,000 Sign on Bonus for offers accepted by 12/31/2020. Payout is in the first paycheck with a 2 year commitment to Mission Health*

The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, or Cardiac ICU, is a 16-bed, high-acuity cardiac medical intensive care unit that is an integral part of our advanced continuum of care for cardiac patients. We are currently hiring top talent for this high-performing, teamwork-oriented nuring unit - apply today!

Unit Profile:

* Typical nurse/patient ratio on this unit are 1:2 (subject to change depending on treatment therapies and staffing).

Patient Population: Cardiac patients who have experienced heart failure, cardiac arrest, post-STEMI etc.

* Many patients may require advanced treatment therapies such as IABP, Impella, targeted temperature management (TTM), CRRT, etc


* These are not patients coming from surgery or open heart surgery on this unit (if those patients are your preference, please see our CVICU postings).

Registered Nurse at Mission Hospital:

Role Summary: Provides leadership which facilitates the delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Implements medically prescribed interventions.

Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Effective 3/1/18 Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR enroll in a BSN or advanced degree program within 6 months AND obtain a BSN within 4 years of hire date into RN position. Previous signed BSN commitment letter OR grandfathering will be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions may be approved with CNO System Council approval.

Required License or Certifications: Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON Certificate: BLS Healthcare Provider.

Preferred License or Certifications: National Certification in area of specialty.

Required Experience: One-year hospital nursing experience in an acute setting (this is the base requirement for the Registered Nurse role at Mission Hospital - please see "Preferred Experience" for department-specific qualifications)

Preferred Experience: Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in an ICU setting is highly-preferred. Depending on staffing mix, may also consider other high-acuity cardiac nursing experience, such as Cardiovascular Progressive Care or Medical Cardiology Stepdown units, 3+ years of critical care nursing experience.
