Job Responsibilities

  • Teach ADN Nursing classes to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies for nursing courses and others as needed.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain course material.
  • Recommend/design course and program curriculum and material as needed.
  • Maintain office hours for student advising, mentoring, and tutoring.
  • Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in College and community activities, promote the Spartanburg Community College mission.
  • Develop/Implement retention strategies and evaluate the effectiveness.
  • Assist in graduate placement.
  • Attend graduation and pinning ceremonies.
  • Assist with student orientation and registration.
  • Serve on College committees.
  • Promote Institutional goals.
  • Assist the Dean as needed.
  • Teaching may be on all campuses or by distance learning.
  • Facilitate course clinical, adjunct appointment and clinical student evaluations for assigned courses.
  • Instruction/clinical rotation may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements

    • Master's in Nursing Degree A current unencumbered South Carolina Nursing License
    • 2 years recent clinical experience in the primary area of responsibility (nursing care or nursing education) that includes instruction, conducting/managing learning experiences, evaluating student achievement, providing input to curriculum development, policy/procedure development, and program evaluation.
      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in simulation and Medical/Surgical Nursing with minimum of 2 years clinical practice.
