in Monroe, North Carolina, 28112! Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU

2 years of ICU experience required License: Current RN License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with
ventilated patients, tracheostomies, chest tubes, critical drip
maintenance, central line maintenance, arterial lines, wound care,
wound vacs, drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation, PIV starts, NG
tube insertion/maintenance, and EPIC experience Description: We are
seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU. The unit has 14 beds and
typically sees an average census of 14 patients per day. Patient
care will focus on adults only. Common diagnoses include sepsis,
DKA, strokes, CIWA, respiratory failure, kidney failure, liver
failure, GI bleeds, surgical patients, congestive heart failure,
and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. There are patients not
involving cardiothoracic or high-level neuro surgeries. Patient
ratios are 1:2-3, depending on staffing. Support within the
department includes 1 CNA covering unit duties during the night,
and remote triage support through cameras in rooms. The unit is
equipped with bedside and central monitors. You may float to other
areas to care for ICU or PCU patients, with rare occurrences of
floating to MedSurg. Scheduling includes weekend rotations with 6
weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule. The facility has phlebotomy
services available 24/7. An anesthesia team is available at night
for central line placements. There is 24/7 availability of
respiratory therapy, hospitalist services, and intensivist care
during the day, with virtual critical care support at night. Shift
times vary but generally fall within the 12-hour night shift range.
