registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years NICU RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. Providing expert care in a
fast-paced pediatric environment requires skill, dedication, and a
passion for life-saving nursing. This opportunity calls for
experienced NICU Registered Nurses ready to make a difference on a
26-week contract in Mooresville, NC, with potential for a 48-hour
per week guarantee. The unit features a 24-bed pediatric ICU with
an average patient census of 21-23, serving critically ill children
including cases involving respiratory issues, trauma (including
non-accidental trauma), DKA, seizures, neurosurgical care, renal
failure, surgical patients, transplants, and complex medical
conditions. Patient-to-nurse ratios vary from 2:1 to 1:1 or 1:2
depending on acuity. First-time travelers are encouraged and
welcomed. Key Qualifications & Experience: - Minimum 2 years of
pediatric ICU experience in a high-acuity setting - RN licensure
with current BLS and PALS certifications - Proficiency with EPIC
EMR system - Experience with Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino ICP
monitoring, Belmont Rapid Infuser - Skilled in vasoactive drip
management, invasive line care, ventilator/trach management, CRRT,
sedation protocols, and bedside procedures - Ability to float to
Pediatric CVICU if needed Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive
nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients - Collaborate
with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, APPs,
residents, and respiratory therapists - Utilize advanced monitoring
and infusion technologies to provide optimal care - Participate in
unit orientation and ongoing training - Flexibly float to related
units such as Pediatric CVICU, NICU, and Progressive Care Support
and Environment: - 24/7 charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT,
respiratory therapy, and intensivist coverage - Dedicated CNA and
unit secretary to assist nursing staff - Free parking and navy
