Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System located in Spartanburg, SC is seeking to hire a FULL TIME Anesthesiologist to join our team to serve as Medical Director for our hospital-employed Anesthesiology group. The ideal candidate must be board certified in Anesthesiology, have a proven track record leading a hospital-employed anesthesia group, and possess a minimum of 7 years clinical and 3 years leadership experience. This position will oversee a group of 34 employed anesthesiologists and 100 anesthetists in a collaborative care team model. This position will be 50% clinical and 50% administrative. · SMC – Church Street Campus – Level 1 Trauma Center (Spartanburg, SC) · o 19,000 cases annually, 3,800 deliveries annually · o 23 State of the art OR’s, 3 Cardiac ORs, 3 EP labs equipped for anesthesia, 3 OB ORs, 4 Endo suites o General case mix includes: General, Plastics, OB, Gyn, Urology, Ortho, Vascular, ENT, Trauma, GI, Neuro, Thoracic, Regional Anesthesia and Peds (primarily healthy peds dental, ENT, ophtho and Ortho, with occasional NICU cases). Off-sites include MRI and IR o In-house call for night and weekend coverage · SMC – Mary Black Campus (Spartanburg, SC) · o 9 ORs, 4 Endo suites, 5000 cases annually · o 3 Anesthesiologists staffed each day · o Nights and weekends home call coverage · o Medical Direction up to 1:4 · o Case mix: General, Plastics, Ortho, Optho, ENT, Urology, Neuro (no craniotomies), Regional Anesthesia, minimal healthy Peds, & GYN o DNV Hip & Knee Center of Excellence · PMC – Pelham Medical Center (Greer, SC) · o 5 ORs (with expansion in progress), 1 Minor Room, 1 Cath Lab, 1 MRI · o Case mix includes: Ortho, Spine, Neuro, General, Robotics, GYN, Plastics, Vascular, GI, Maxo-facial, Pain & ENT (68% Ortho & Spine) · o 4,000 cases annually · o DNV Orthopaedic, Hip & Knee, Spine, and Foot & Ankle Center of Excellence · o US News & World Report 1 in Spine for SC · o Nights and weekends home call coverage · CMC - Cherokee Medical Center (Gaffney, SC) · o 5 ORs, 1 MD per day o Case mix: General, Gyn, GI, Ortho, Regional Anesthesia, occasional TEEs, minimal healthy Peds · o No evening or weekend cases; no call requirements · o Medical Direction up to 1:4 Exceptional Compensation Package Including: o Competitive compensation, sign on bonus and relocation assistance o $6,000 CME Allowance o Attractive Retirement Options & Generous Time Off o Paid Malpractice to Include Tail Coverage o PSLF Approved Institution Just an hour from the Blue Ridge Mountains and 3 hours from the ocean, housing is moderately priced, educational options abound, and residents still value old fashioned gentility and respect for others.
