Job Description:

The Tulip Tree is "Casual Fine Dining" restaurant located on Morgan Square in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, SC. We specialize in providing farm-to-table Southern Inspired Cuisine that takes client on culinary journey from the Coastal Lowcountry to the Blue Ridge mountains. We also serve as an Art Gallery containing over 100 pieces of beautiful art showcasing works of art from local artists and galleries creating one of the most memorable and beautiful Restaurant settings in the Upstate of Carolina. The Tulip Tree is currently seeking Executive Chef and Sous Chef positions. The Executive Chef and Sous Chef must lead by example and set the tone for the entire restaurant. Positive attitude, communication, hard work, understanding, kindness and respect are a must at both positions. We strive to provide an excellent dining experience to all our customers. Compensation ranges from $35,000-$80,000 plus profitability bonuses and commissions on catering events. The Executive Chef and Sous Chef working as a team are responsible for: Develop menus at the direction of ownership Coordinating and supervising all activities of the kitchen including hiring, training and scheduling of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff Ordering Food with an emphasis on local farms and vendors Interact with guests to ensuring their needs are satisfied Maintain food quality control Ensure that cleanliness is a top priority and meeting all health codes, laws, and brand standards Maintaining schedules for kitchen staff to ensure proper staffing levels within budget Complete food inventories on monthly basis to ownership Monitor revenue and expense to ensure profit goals are attained Look for new ways to improving products, service, and profitability MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Culinary degree or related training equivalent in the Restaurant field 5+ years of relevant work experience in the Restaurant field Food Safety Manager Certification - preferred or attained within 30 days Licensed Food Safety manager Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $35,000 - $80,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: Yes
