Summary: Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Planner
is responsible for overseeing all aspects related to the scheduling
and production operations within the facility. This includes
production management, workforce leadership, and customer
satisfaction. The Production Planner ensures that vehicles are
upfitted to client specifications on time, within budget, and
according to quality standards. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly
production schedules based on customer orders and demand forecasts.
Coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials and components
are available to meet production requirements. Monitor production
progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays,
equipment breakdowns, or supply shortages. Analyze capacity, labor
availability, and machine utilization to optimize workflow and
minimize downtime. Maintain accurate production data in ERP/MRP
systems. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time
delivery, inventory levels, lead times, and production efficiency.
Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth
material flow and finished goods distribution. Support continuous
improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and
operational efficiency. Prepare production reports and provide
regular updates to management. Experience 5 years of experience in
a similar role, preferably within the automotive, fleet services,
or vehicle upfitting industry. Strong understanding of the
industry, vehicle upfitting processes, tools, materials, and best
practices in a production environment. A strategic mindset to drive
growth and operational excellence. Ability to handle unexpected
challenges and quickly find solutions. Strong leadership,
communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in business
software tools (Microsoft Office, ERP systems) Education Bachelor's
degree in business, Operations Management, Automotive Technology,
or related field preferred. Physical Demands While performing the
duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is
typically moderate. Schedule May involve extended hours depending
on business needs. Monday through Friday.
