Beschreibung The Fire Prevention Specialist: Manages and oversees the coordination of internal and external fire prevention and related risk mitigation activities. Leads and or participates in multi-disciplinary and multi-departmental investigations, inspections, reviews and audits of BMW MC Plant 10 facilities to determine compliance/non-compliance with all fire regulations, codes, standards and laws. Documents all findings from investigations, audits, and inspections in order to produce comprehensive reports, presentations, and recommendations. Assures that all fire suppression systems are maintained in conformance with applicable fire codes, regulations, and industry standards. Provides technical expertise in the review and administration of projects involving planning new construction, inspection services, hot works protocols, building plan reviews, fire/emergency response investigations, code compliance, disaster preparedness, fire/emergency response operations and concept, hazardous materials spill response and concept, equipment, and company information. Acts as an interface with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain fire prevention and life safety ecosystems. Coordinates extinguishing systems and ensures systems are fully functional in a manufacturing environment. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regard to technical inquiries related to fire suppression planning, fire related investigations, construction plan review, hazardous materials, code compliance, response operations, and/or inspections. Develops programs, policies, standards, and communication as it relates to fire prevention, life safety, and hazard awareness. Consults and coordinates fire prevention, life safety measures, and extinguishment systems on construction sites with internal and external construction management teams. Coordinates all first commissioning of extinguishing systems as part of the acceptance procedure in conjunction with operators/planners. Coordinates decommissioning of extinguishing systems. Coordinates with internal/external stakeholders, to include the contracted fire/emergency services vendor, for implementation and governance of BMW policies, procedures, and guidelines. Consults and coordinates with Municipal fire protection subject matter experts (State, County, Municipal, etc.). Participates in all inspections and audits related to risk management and insurance. Tracks and corrects identified inspection/audit defects. Creates instructions for standardized Plant audits considering complex shutdowns and business interruption risk. Assists with coordinating hazardous materials program to include spill prevention, spill response, and spill mitigation. Supports in crisis management and serves as an SME for Incident Command. MA/MS degree (preferred).10+ years of relevant fire protection field experience. All relevant experience should contain at least: 5+ years responsibility for program implementation and/or management; 3+ years knowledge of the structures of Fire Department, Emergency Response, and/or Fire Marshal.5+ years knowledge of fire and hazard safety procedures.3+ years of ability to lead and participate in informal and formal teams.3+ years experience creating program content and communication material.1+ years of computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.Valid Drivers License required per BMW MC LLC guidelines.Basic knowledge of production and manufacturing processes or procedures (preferred).Preferred experience/knowledge/training/certification in any of the following: National Fire Protection Association training; South Carolina Fire Academy certified; International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) certified; CPR/First Responder; NFPA FFII; 2147 NIMS ICS or a NFA course meeting NIMS ICS (100, 200 & 700); 2153 NIMS ICS -300 Intermediate; Basic Fire/Arson Investigations (SCFA or NFA); 8608 Fire Marshal Certification/ICC Fire Inspector I; 8609 ICC Fire Inspector I Exam; 8610 S.C. Fire Marshal Rules and Regulations; SCFA/IFSAC Fire Instructor I; 2100 NFPA Fire Officer I; HazMat Technician Level certified. BMW Manufacturing Company is an equal opportunity employer.
