Qualifications:

Full time student pursuing a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications PLC or low-level programming experience Proven problem-solving techniques Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major) Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application Able to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions Able to work full-time (40 hours / week) Transfer students must have a GPA from current university Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term THE WORK DATES FOR THIS ROTATION ARE AUGUST 16 2021 TO DECEMBER 17, 2021 PLEASE ATTACH A COPY OF YOUR UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT TO APPLY

Description

This is a Co-Op position which will require three alternating rotations (e.g.Spring, Fall, Summer)

The Co-op will work as a project lead within the quality department of the body shop at BMW Spartanburg. The selected student will analyze data of quality topics as it relates to the current process of shipment to our internal customers. By creating technical solutions, the individual will work closely with the Quality Engineer, Quality Parts Managers and Operational Lead to minimize and eliminate the risk of defects in an efficient and effective manner.

The Student Co-op can expect to develop and improve skills in the following areas:

Process improvements relating to identification and containment of quality issues Process improvements relating to preventing quality topics from occurring Developing process and system standards Problem Solving Experience PLC Programming Experience Lean Manufacturing Experience Quality Management and Steering Project Management and Steering BMW specific systems and processes
