Heart Path at Mission Health
Heart Path is a state-
and nationally-certified, comprehensive program of cardiac
rehabilitation which helps our patients look closer at the risk
factors that cause heart disease and that helps patients to design
a plan of care to lower risk of future heart problems.
Registered Nurse in Heart
We are looking for
nurses who have experience working with cardiac patients and an
excellent knowledge of heart anatomy and interpreting EKGs.
This nurse should have a great passion for Lifestyle Medicine and
for working with patients who are recovering from cardiac &
pulmonary disease. Successful candidates will enjoy working
to help patients achieve short- and long-term goals to modify risk
factors. The registered nurse works closely with a team of
Exercise Physiologists, Respiratory Therapist, Registered
Dietician, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as part of a
high-functioning truly multi-disciplinary team in which each member
has an important role and voice.

Registered Nurse at Mission
Summary: Provides leadership which facilitates the
delivery of professional nursing care for the comfort and
well-being of patients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment,
planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate,
supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
Implements medically prescribed interventions.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Effective
3/1/18 Bachelor of Science in Nursing OR enroll in a BSN or
advanced degree program within 6 months AND obtain a BSN within 4
years of hire date into RN position. Previous signed BSN commitment
letter OR grandfathering will be accepted between departments and
Mission Health entities. Exemptions may be approved with CNO System
or Certifications: Must have and maintain current
licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of
Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply,
licensee should confirm with NCBON Certificate: BLS Healthcare
License or Certifications: National Certification in
area of specialty.
Experience: One-year hospital nursing experience (this is
the base experience requirement for the registered nurse role,
please see "Preferred Experience" for department-specific
Experience: Arrhythmia recognition and a minimum of
5 years of cardiac experience needed. Ability to effectively
communicate with a team and referring physicians.
