Summary Medical Informatics is seeking a Nursing Informatics
Nursing Informatics is a recognized nursing specialty practice that
integrates nursing science with multiple information and analytical
sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data,
information, knowledge, and wisdom in nursing practice. The Nursing
Informatics Analyst I is an entry level position (novice through
competent) that facilitates the adoption of information technology
through analysis and recommendations of clinical workflows based on
professional nursing practice competency and the standards of
nursing informatics practice. The position supports information
management in the design, structure, retrieval, presentation,
storage, exchange, and use of data and information within
information systems/technologies where licensed nurses practice as
a system-based informatics nurse. Recommends documentation and
clinical process changes to meet organizational goals.
Responsibilities include planning and facilitating the development
of knowledge to support improved productivity, efficiency, clinical
decision-making, and quality outcomes in nursing.
- Graduate of a BSN program
- 5 consecutive years in a licensed clinical nursing role
performing same or similar duties
- Current South Carolina Registered Nurse Licensure
- Current ANCC Informatics Nurse (RN-BC) board certification or
within 18 months of position start date
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in computer skills and basic Microsoft office
- Graduate of an MSN - Informatics program
- Nursing informatics, clinical informatics, and/or information
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Certified Associate in Health Information & Management Systems
- Certified Professional in Health Information & Management
- Certification in a relevant Epic application(s) [ClinDoc, ASAP,
Stork, OpTime, Dorothy, etc.]
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Epic Systems electronic health record
